France with a child

I am taking my 2 year old son to France and just wondered if there are any regulations or rules we need to follow or anything special we have to take with us that is special there or that you dont get there? We are driving. Thanks

I would check with the gov.co.uk because europe now is really dodgy about visas and kids travelling on their own passport.
